MORE TAXES, NO PUBLIC VOTE, THIS IS BIG!
AB 379 Signed into law by Gov Sandoval:
Yes the taxes are in fact coming with no limit!
How did this slip by? Short version, it appears that with no public vote your local government statewide can (and of course will) raise your taxes, assessments and fees to pay for allegedly: parks and open space.
This appears to completely obliterate the 3% property tax cap with other assessments and fees. Government can, and will, raise taxes and the remove any general fund money from Parks & Rec. That GF money will then go to….wait for it…. Pay raises for all! Soon statewide all Parks and Rec (stretch that term loosely) will be paid for from that new tax fund and general fund will go elsewhere.
There are legal challenges possible (details on request) but your elected officials and A.G. Laxalt need to hear from you!
